No Pardon is a rippin' folk trio born in Eureka CA that showcases conceptually fluid songwriting and toe-tappin' fiddle tunes. Chris Parreira's rhythm guitar is tastefully textured, an articulate mash-up between folk, rock, and country. Bringing in tunes from around the world, Rosalind Parducci's fiddling chops are intricate and imaginative, pulsing with Celtic, blues and old-time roots. Undeniably, it's all about that upright bass, featuring the heartbeat-steady backing of Amber Grimes.

Lost Sierra Hoedown + a New Track!

Well, howdy stranger.

We will be touring for a beautiful mad dash, mid-week, to catch a one-of-a-kind festival in the Sierra Nevadas. If you want more information on it, look it up, Lost Sierra Hoedown.

It's a journey, and it's worth it.

On the No Pardon front, we're busy being people over here; making money when the opportunities afford us, and spending time in the studio. Rosalind is designing cover art for our album, the days flow shorter as winter slinks in slowly, and the stars on the coast are simply perfect at night.

Below is a little vid of us from tonight at practice. We will play at the Hoedown on Thursday to open the festival up at 1. This festival is SOLD OUT! Featuring The Mother Hips, The Stone Foxes, Willy Tea Taylor & The Risky Biscuits, Randy Mandy, Sam Chase and the Untraditional, Joe Kaplow, Caitlin Jemma... the list goes on! If its rains, well, the Rainbow Girls will be there, so don't u fear. We won't be staying the whole weekend, due to the call of life and work at home.

This is an old time fiddle tune, Booth Shot Lincoln. Learned it in Western NC, it's a tune Marcus Martin played (neither the Dallas Cowboys Center player, nor this https://www.gofundme.com/marcus-martin... the OT fiddler from the Appalachians of Western NC).

This is our take on it.

We are working hard, finished tracking!! Now listening back to our tracks in the studio. It's a belabored process... we are giving birth to a 12 song album, complete with 11 originals and our take on Nick Lowe's song, (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding.

Recording puts me in a microcosm state of mind, looking through the each song through the audiological microscope, noticing tiny bits of mayhem (mayhem as in "A state of violent disorder or riotous confusion; havoc") and analyzing tones and overtones, subliminal bass, and other studio wizardry. It's a gift to have a solid team to make it all come together.

Here is the link for our title track for the album, Woodpecker Waltz.

We will have a video for you folks to check out before Christmas. January keep your ears peeled for a number of new radio earworms. :)

Speaking of earworms, I invite you to give a listen to a couple new albums that are serving that purpose for me right now.

See you everywhere,

Welcoming in the autumn

As we're getting ready to play an Arts! Alive Show tomorrow night at the trendy new Eureka venue, Arts & Drafts, there's some cool things coming up.

1. Our album is set to be complete by mid Sept, with a release TBA in October!

2. As mentioned, we're playing tomorrow night at Arts and Drafts, which was voted Best New Business in the North Coast Journal for 2018. Our friend Firefly Mizera will be displaying a season's worth of creations in painting and embroidery, colorful work that will be the backdrop for our live music. Firefly will be live painting as we play, and at the end of the performance she will auction out the art piece. Part of the revenue from that piece will go towards our album production costs! Come support and listen.

3. Lost Sierra Hoedown - we are comin for you! We'll be in Johnsville CA playing a set on Thursday Sept 20th at 1pm. If you haven't checked out the Hoedown, it's a fab gathering of radtastic musicians and music lovers in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Sept 20-23.

Check it:

We're also set to play for the local agriculture/farmer's market folks of the North Coast Growers Association annual gathering Sept 8th in Blue Lake CA, and for the EPIC annual gathering in Redway in November. We will update you about more events as they arise! ESPECIALLY our album release. ;)

Be well!

August News and UPcoming Fun

Hello folks!

Here on the California coast we are making headway towards our new album! It's fully tracked, and now we're down to mixing/mastering before our work turns into a digitally pressed record. The process has gifted us with many memorable and goofy moments, a process of delicious collaboration with our friends in the local scene, and we are so very stoked to have something to show for all that work soon. Our anticipated release date is October 17, and we will be sending out teaser tracks to our friends in the coming month. Sign up to be on our mailing list for updates and special releases! <3 <3 <3

We have a number of upcoming shows over the next week:

Grass Valley this coming Saturday amidst the literary classics at a favorite venue, the Open Book

On Sunday we play in Santa Rosa for a house show with a bunch of amazing musicians: the Oddjob Ensemble, and Buck-Thrifty are two local bands with whom we have the pleasure to share a bill!

Next Wednesday we will be in Shelter Cove at the Gyppo Ale Mill

September 22, you can catch us performing at the Lost Sierra Hoedown with a capitol cast of characters from across the west coast music scene. That's in Johnsville, CA, north of the town of Truckee and east of Chico... from the Lost Coast go east and you'll get lost in the Sierras. Then you'll be close. ;) Tickets are limited, it's an intimate festival, so be sure to get em while they're hot.

Outside of dates and updates, we're all riding Mercury in retrograde, ifn you're into that astrological floetry... seems like change is a rippling and steadfast force in our lives at the moment... it makes ya realize how good it is to have friends whatever the cosmic weather may be.

Looking forward to sharing the music with y'all, please be in touch!

Angels of February

A friend designed this art after I asked the question: "what if Charlie's Angels played strings?"

By Chas Coffman

We are in studio once again, working on a OUR FIRST FULL-LENGTH ALBUM in a warm little sound cabaña in Eureka.... here's a sideways glance at Earnest, our most estimable bass, keeping the digital cockpit company between takes.

Exciting to feature the drums of Sam Kaplin-Good on this album, among other lovely tones. Getting a bit of an indie rock edge in some of our new songs.

I'm so pleased with the progress we are making. Can't wait to share it with everybody.

Stay tuned,

Rosalind & the No Pardon crew

September Schwag

Hello friends!

Greetings from your favorite Humboldt acoustic trio! It's been quite the summer in California, and right now even on the coast the air is thick with smoke from inland fires. All that heat can't stop the music, and we're preparing for some sweet shows in the next month.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has offered us their support, both on tour last spring, and throughout the past year and 8 months of us being a band. It means so much to us to be able to continue to share our music with the world, and y'all are the reason we keep doing what we're doing.

We are stoked to let you all know about the arrival of the first batch of official No Pardon band shirts! Check out our designs, and click HERE to pre-order yours now!

Special thanks for our May tour go out to Lila Nelson, Sam at The Backroom, Fred Hoeffler, Aimee Takaya and the Ontario crew, Randy Mandy, Andrew & Bethany the wonderful folks in Knight's Ferry, friends from the Landers Brew Company, our Nevada City peeps, The Shanachie Pub, and all of YOU for your continued support! We hope you dig the new schwag and hit us up for some No Pardon style.

More tunes coming soon!

All the best,

Rosalind, Chris, and Amber

New EP!

Last month we put together a 7 track EP, recorded live with Tim Gray of Myrtletown Records.
The EP opens with a traditional American Old Time fiddle tune set, Pretty Pollyanne/Say Old Man Can I Have Your Daughter? and features 5 original tracks, and a cover of Roland Orzabal's Mad World (Tears for Fears).
Cage (track 2) and Sugar & Stone (track 7) were written by Chris Parreira. Live Forever, Collision, and the instrumental, Funk in the Trunk, were written by Rosalind Parducci.
We will be celebrating our EP With a release party on Tuesday, May 10 at the Siren Song Tavern.
We enjoyed our studio time, and are proud of the live takes we recorded! We hope you enjoy!

Also, if you haven't seen it yet, check out our video of Live Forever, filmed and edited by Chuck Johnson of Humboldt Live Sessions. We had a lovely afternoon filming this in March, on a yar sailboat named Yara!

A New Adventure

What a start to 2016! Our new project, No Pardon, is comprised of three worldly imaginations brought together through a rather fascinating chain of incidents and coincidence. We will be performing in and around the Eureka area in the next few months, and we are excited to share our music with you! Check in for updates on shows on our tour page.

Also, there's this cool video we put together a little while ago that you might wanna see...

(It's got a Tiny Desk in it, did you notice?)
